The itinerary

Your gastronomic adventure begins right in the heart of Lyon at the famous Place Bellecour. Starting small & sweet, you’ll sample a coussin de Lyon - a national heritage item since 1960 - from their most famous producer.

Crossing over the Saône River to the Vieux Lyon - a maze of medieval and renaissance architecture - you’ll step behind closed doors into the traboules or secret passages that go unseen to many visitors this area. Further tastings in this charming part of town include both a pink praline tart and a praline brioche, unique to Lyon.

Next it’s time to return to the Presqu'Ile for a stroll through an open-air food market, before discovering the bouchons Lyonnais - restaurants where the silk factory workers would enjoy hearty local fare, still functioning restaurants to this day.

Then a short journey by bus for the grand finale of your foodie quest through Lyon - the Halles Bocuse - where alongside learning the history of the chefs who made Lyon the gastronomic capital of France, you’ll sample the famous pâté en croûte, local charcuterie and a selection of cheese, accompanied by a perfectly paired glass of wine from the region.
