Be sure not to miss out on the stunning Musical Fountain Show that takes place every weekend from April 3rd to November 1st 2020. This delight will be part of every Versailles tour for those lucky enough to be visiting at this time!
The experience begins at your residence (or in Central Paris) where your private Versailles expert will meet you. He will accompany your family by train to the magnificent Château de Versailles. On the approach to this hunting lodge turned world’s most famous palace, the kids will find out how many horses towed the King’s carriage, which of the Royals wore wigs and why Louis XIV was known as the Sun King.
Once arrived at the palace, it’s straight to the door as you skip the line to begin the adventure. Each wonderfully adorned room has a theme be it love, hunting, mythology or war and along the way the kids will be seeking out royal emblems, searching for wild beasts and even finding where Louis XIV sat on his thrown. For would-be princesses, your guide will be showing you where the famous palace balls took place and describing what Marie Antoinette herself would have been wearing. You'll be guided through the importance of light at Versailles; demonstrated in the use of candelabras, chandeliers and mirrors in the spectacular Hall of Mirrors.
During the final part of your adventure you’ll be exploring the majestic gardens, considered more important by their creator than the palace itself. It was here where Princes, Princesses and noblemen came to frolic amongst the golden fountains and ornate groves. Beautifully illustrated activity sheets will enable young explores to navigate garden mazes, spot the symbols of the Sun King and to go home with the perfect souvenir of their visit.
