When in Rome, … you must experience the iconic monuments and enjoy strolling the city as local do! We’ll get things off on the right foot with a perfect view on the iconic Spanish steps. Not only one of Rome’s architectural masterpieces, the baroque steps also served as the famous backdrop for ‘A Roman Holiday’.
After a stop at the Column of the Immaculate Conception, we will reach the imposing Trevi Fountain, a pride of Rome. Let ourselves be lulled by the magical song of the waters and the enchanting legends of roman gods told by the sculptures that tower above. Who wants to toss in a coin to ensure that one day they return to Rome?
A few steps away, the chill-inducing Pantheon will transport us to another era. A visit both inside and outside of this monument gives us the chance to admire this engineering marvel of more than 1,900 years of age. The Pantheon also houses the tombs of Raphael and the first King of Italy. Steps away is another hidden wonder of Rome: Chiesa di San Luigi dei Francesi. Inside this beautiful baroque church, you’ll have to chance to admire a Caravaggio masterpiece!
Next up is Piazza Navona, an outdoor playground of theatrical buildings and spectacular fountains carved out by the twin genius of Bernini and Borromini. To wrap up the day, your guide will show you the wonders of the lively market of the Campo de’Fiori, where you’ll learn that this charming local market used to be a little less pleasant not so long ago.
