About guide

Knowing Paris inside-out comes with years of exploring, but above all a passion for discovering all the magic that a city has to offer. Our city guides are selected for their unconditional love for Paris, and their desire to share it with our visitors. Leaving no stone unturned, our guides are always ready to go the extra mile to ensure that those who explore with them get to discover the Paris that truly makes them tick.

Highlights

How did Paris and its people manage to overcome the German Occupation during WWII? Get a unique perspective on the major facets of this historical conflict on our 2-hour tour: the uncertainty of the invasion, the dark days of deportation, and ultimately the heroic efforts of the Liberation.

Highlights of this walking tour include the city’s Jewish quarter, the Holocaust Museum, the Deportation Memorial, and Notre Dame Cathedral. Going beyond simple facts and figures, your guide will paint a vivid picture of the period!

The itinerary

Your walking tour starts in the heart of the historic Marais district where you’ll parachute right into action as your guide explains the events leading up to the German invasion of France.

A walk through the Jewish quarter will be the perfect setting for discussing the bleak reality of the deportation. You’ll stop by Paris’s Holocaust museum & the Wall of the Righteous before crossing the river toward Ile de la Cité. There, we’ll show you where the war’s key battles of the army and the resistance were won and lost like the Paris Préfecture, and the Conciergerie, still rife with bullet holes.

Meeting point & walking distance
